The two large roundabouts at the Silverdale/Dairy Flat/Hibiscus Coast exit from the northern motorway will be planted next week, following on-going complaints about them, including through Hibiscus Matters.
The roundabouts have been bare soil and neglected for many years, ever since earlier plantings died.
The new planting will begin on Monday, July 19 and is expected to take place over five or six nights.
A total of 3300 plants will go in, including colourful orange gazanias, native coprosmas, hibiscus and grasses.
A 50mm layer of mulch will be spread around the plants, with the existing weed matting being retained.
**UPDATE** This planting work on the Silverdale roundabouts has been delayed. It is hoped that it will be done later this month.
