Schools respond to lockdown

Mahurangi high schools have moved quickly to respond to the Government’s announcement of a Level 3 lockdown for Auckland, which is due to remain in force until at least midnight on Wednesday (Feb 17).

Mahurangi College

Students should stay at home from Monday to Wednesday inclusive. School will be open only for students where parents have no other option but to send them to school. They will have supervised study. Distance learning will be activated tomorrow (Tuesday, Feb 16)

Virtual classes will run for all students at the usual timetabled time. Teachers will send meeting invites to these classes. School buses continue as normal.

Horizon

School is only open for children who need to attend. Teachers will email children with what they should be doing on Tuesday and Wednesday. There will be no formal expectations of schoolwork on Monday. Class zoom meetings will take place on Tuesday after which work can be accessed by Google Classroom or via email.
