Playground flying high

Members of Warkworth Lions Club were ecstatic to see the ribbon finally cut to open the new play space at Lucy Moore Park on December 4.

The project, which includes two parallel flying foxes and four in-ground trampolines, started in 2016.

Extensive consultation and weather delays saw three different Lions presidents involved before completion of the first stage, which has cost more than $100,000.

Future additions will be a slide, swing and tower, if funding can be obtained. Lions and the Rodney Local Board funded the first stage of construction, and Board chair Beth Houlbrooke officiated at the opening.
