Christmas comes early for Springboard

Christmas came early for Springboard Community Works when an audience of 160 people and company Kennards Hire stumped up with $246,000 at the organisation’s annual fundraiser.

The event was held on November 3 at Ascension Wine Estate. Springboard founder Gary Diprose says the sum raised through individual pledges was ‘beyond his wildest dreams’.

“When Kennards said they would match the community with up to $100,000, it was never a given we would get that far,” Gary says.

“We’ve still got a lot of work to do, but this amount is a huge boost for what we do and will see us well into next year.” Past Springboard auctions has raised around $50,000.

“We decided to be bold this year and try something new with support from Kennards. Kennards has also supported the organisation by providing staff and machinery to chop wood that is sold to raise funds.

Springboard creates opportunities for young people to achieve positive outcomes and pathways to success.
